Bedford machete man Anthony Underwood avoids jail
A man who ran through Bedford town centre with a machete and hammer, while shoppers scattered, has been sentenced.
Anthony Underwood, 27, from Croxden Way, Elstow, told Luton Crown Court he wanted to be arrested and jailed to help him kick his £300-a-day cocaine habit.
However, he was given a suspended sentence and ordered to do community service.
