Council discusses car park plan for Twyford allotments

Gardeners fear they will be evicted from 100-year-old allotments to make way for a station car park.

Twyford station is one of many stops on the new Crossrail line and councillors are concerned about its "longstanding parking problem".

Twyford Parish Council said one option it was considering was using the land from the allotments for a car park.

But allotment tenant Malcolm Bray said the allotments are a part of Britain's character.
