Mum's plea after Tipton metal bar attack

The mother of a 13-year-old girl who was beaten with a metal bar in a "random and brutal" attack says she now fears for her daughter's safety when she goes out.

Jessica Wilde and Callum Leonard, 14, were hit with a metal bar on a pathway close to Hobart Road and Wallbrook Primary School playing fields in Tipton, West Midlands, on 20 November.

Police are still searching for the attacker, who is believed to be about 20 years old.
