London Midland boss 'embarrassed'

The managing director of London Midland said he was "embarrassed" about the disruption caused by a shortage of train drivers in the run-up to Christmas.

The company was forced to cancel more than 1,000 trains last year because too many drivers left to work for other firms.

Patrick Verwer had earlier been answering questions from listeners on BBC WM's Adrian Goldberg show and admitted he had been "embarrassed" over what happened.
