Communities harvest urban fruit
A network of volunteers in Birmingham have begun to harvest food grown in the city that has previously gone to waste.
Community groups have begun to pick fruit from urban trees and bushes in a bid to donate them to good causes.
Some 80 sites in the Northfield area have been identified where there is fruit that usually goes unpicked.
Georgia Stokes, from Northfield Ecocentre, said: "What we want to do is pick the fruit that's already in our communities put it to good use and make sure people who need it are getting healthy nutritious food so we're not buying fruit from New Zealand or South Africa."
