West Midlands NHS helpline 'improved' by new operators
West Midlands Ambulance Service says it has improved the NHS 111 helpline since taking it over in December.
The helpline, administered from a call centre in Brierley Hill, Dudley, is for patients with urgent but not life-threatening symptoms.
The ambulance service took over the helpline across most of the West Midlands after NHS Direct said it could not afford to continue running it.
