Suspended term for police helicopter laser pen 'toast' man
A Birmingham man caught on camera "toasting" with friends after he shone a laser pen at a police helicopter has been handed a suspended sentence.
Christopher Vowles, 23, of Highfields Road, Great Barr, was drinking with friends on 31 July in a back garden in Kitts Green when he targeted the aircraft.
He was arrested after the helicopter's crew tracked him using thermal imaging cameras.
Vowles was handed a seven-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, at Birmingham Crown Court.
