Selly Oak MP calls for investigation after trapped mother's twins die
An MP has called for an investigation over the death of premature twins after their mother could not be reached by emergency medics.
Jocelyn Bennett, 27, was eight months pregnant when she called 999 while suffering a placental abruption, which causes severe bleeding.
She was unable to answer the door herself, and ambulance crews could not get an answer from anyone in the tower block and had to call police for help.
The twins died in hospital and Ms Bennett remains in a coma.
MP for Selly Oak, Steve McCabe, said an emergency access system needed to be put in place.
