Walsall Manor Hospital: A&E pressures 'worst in 30-year career'
A hospital boss has described the pressures on Accident and Emergency at Walsall Manor Hospital as the worst in her 30-year career.
Director of nursing Kathryn Halford said the hospital was coping thanks to "the goodwill of staff".
A "major incident" declared on Monday remains in force at the hospital, but extra beds have been made available at a day unit to help take pressure off A&E.
Waiting times are currently about eight to 10 hours, while dozens of operations have been cancelled.
