'Beginner' robber downloaded 'how to' guide

A man who used the internet to find out how rob a bank has been jailed for 11 years.

Greg Dike, 38, from London, carried out raids in Leeds, Liverpool and Middlesex before he was arrested in Rowley Regis, in the West Midlands, in March.

West Midlands Police then found the robber, whom they described as "undoubtedly a beginner", had downloaded "how to" guides about bank robberies on his mobile phone.

Dike was jailed after admitting four robberies, an attempted robbery, and firearms offences at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
