Jobs boost with new £150m hotel, leisure and shopping complex
Developers behind a multi-million pound hotel, leisure and shopping complex in Birmingham say it will create more than 1,000 jobs.
The £150m Resorts World, which will include a new casino, cinema and outlet shopping mall, is due to open at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in the summer.
Barry Clemo, operations director of the venture, said the work started about 18 months ago.
Martin Clarke, marketing director from the NEC, said the development would help make the venue, which was recently sold by Birmingham City Council, a more attractive place to go.
