Shakespeare statue misses anniversary in Stratford-upon-Avon
A statue of Shakespeare has yet to find a home after being deemed distracting for motorists in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The application to put James Butler's 8ft statue on a traffic island on Bridge Street was withdrawn earlier this year.
Butler, who sculpted the Queen to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, had hoped his latest statue would be included in commemorations to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
