New Birmingham hospital boss defends fewer beds
The chief executive of the hospital trust behind the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital has defended the decision to reduce the number of beds.
Toby Lewis, Chief Executive of the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, said they were investing in ways of reducing admissions.
The Trust expects to have 25 fewer beds when the new hospital opens in two years.
