Footballer killed by lightning 50 years ago honoured by club

A West Midlands footballer who died in a lightning strike during a match 50 years ago has been honoured by his former club.

Tony Allden, a player for Highgate United in February 1967, was 23.

The young defender had been married for five months.

The stand at the club in Solihull has now been renamed after him.
