Lack of sites blamed by travellers who set up camp in school
A group of travellers in 20 caravans has been evicted from the grounds of a school in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said about 20 specialist officers supported the local authority in enforcing the removal of the group from the grounds of Shenley Academy, after the travellers ignored a notice to leave.
They had had set up camp on Friday afternoon at the school, which was forced to shut on Monday to most pupils as a result.
