Fundraising friends hoping to get disabled mum home

A mother of two is hoping to return home this Christmas three years after she almost drowned in North Devon.

Deb Drew, 51, from from Stourbridge, West Midlands, had tried to save a nine-year-old boy at Woolacombe Beach in August 2014 - both had to be rescued by the coastguard.

It left her with severe injuries and she has been undergoing intensive rehabilitation ever since.

The boy survived but she has never heard anything from the family.

Deb's friends are planning a huge fundraising event next month to raise money for a wheelchair that will help her stand.
