Swindon's River Cole polluted by old engine oil

The Environment Agency is cleaning up what they suspect is old engine oil in the River Cole in Swindon.

The source is thought to be a surface water drain which discharges into the river.

The agency is working with Thames Water to establish how and when the oil got into the drainage system, which serves a large industrial and residential area of Swindon.
