Fresh flooding forces Stapleford pub to close again
Flooding has forced a pub to close and cancel a New Year's Eve party after a nearby pumping station failed.
Karen and Paul Beer, who own The Rose at Stapleford in Cambridgeshire, spent the day mopping up instead of preparing for a party for about 100 people.
The pub flooded when the Anglian Water pumping station behind their building broke down.
Mrs Beer said it was a prosperous New Year's Eve "down the drain".
In the summer the pub had to close for eight weeks to be refurbished after an earlier flood.
