Cambridge cyclist 'caught' by rail crossing

CCTV footage has been released that shows how a cyclist got trapped on a level crossing in Cambridge after riding under the barriers when he appears to have ignored the lights.

After the barriers fall, he then lifts his bike over the gate and climbs over it - but the bike is caught in the gate and is lifted in the air as the barrier rises.

The incident at Chesterton Junction on Fen Road, East Chesterton, happened in February last year and has been released by British Transport Police as part of a safety campaign.
