Expenses probe PCC walks out of Michael Crick interview

The newly-elected Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) who faces an expenses investigation walked off when she came under fire from a journalist.

Political Correspondent for Channel 4 News, Michael Crick, challenged Conservative Alison Hernandez over her filing of expenses for the 2015 General Election.

However, Ms Hernandez left mid-way through his questions, escorted by staff.

Police are examining Ms Hernandez's role in submitting expenses for Tory MP Kevin Foster in the election.

The Conservative party has admitted failing to declare a total of £38,000 of general election expenses for accommodation costs during its 2015 election campaign, blaming an "administrative error".
