Coventry ring road bridge demolition work starts

Major work to demolish two bridges and transform a junction on Coventry's ring road has begun.

Junction six will be closed until about June 2015 while the bridges are knocked down and a new pedestrian walkway installed.

The walkway will link the railway station with the city centre and is part of the £59m Friargate project.

Coventry City Council said it was hopeful any traffic disruption would settle down once the work is underway.
