Bulldog Bash biker festival in Long Marston under way

The Bulldog Bash biker event in south Warwickshire has returned, despite police protestations, after being cancelled last year.

The event is at Long Marston Airfield until 10 August. Stratford-on-Avon District Council granted organisers a licence for up to 10,000 people.

Ch Insp Ian Whiting, from Warwickshire Police, said: "Our concern is that money from this event is going to go to the Hells Angels and they will use it in their criminal activities and for that reason alone, we don't wish the event to take place in Warwickshire."

A spokesman for the organisers, who calls himself Echo, said: "They said this nonsense about three or four years ago and the council's licensing committee asked them to provide evidence when they objected to the show going ahead and they couldn't provide that evidence.

"And we'd hoped that we'd gone past all that."
