'Desperate' plea for dog blood donors
An animal charity is warning of a shortage of donor blood for dogs due to rising demand.
Pet Blood Bank UK says the service can often be down to its last few pints and is appealing to new donors.
The charity set up a donor session at Feldon Veterinary Centre, Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. Devon is one of the healthy donor dogs who provides blood to help other canines with conditions such as anaemia.
Devon's owner Pat Symons, said she wanted to help after previously losing two dogs.
Zoe Hayward, from the charity, told BBC News they are "desperate" for donors.
