Coventry City fan: 'It's been four years of hell'

A Coventry City fan who won a pay-out from West Midlands Police after he was assaulted by an officer says it has been "four years of hell" trying to clear his name.

Mark Wynn, 48, was repeatedly kneed in the head by PC Ricki Allsop after being arrested at the Ricoh Arena in 2011.

Another officer lodged a written complaint about PC Allsop's actions but Mr Wynn claims that was "covered-up".

He has received a five-figure compensation settlement from West Midlands Police.

PC Allsop has received a final written warning, the force said.

Ch Insp Brian Carmichael said the settlement had been decided after PC Allsop was brought before a misconduct panel.
