Tidal surge threatens Cumbrian homes

High winds and a tidal surge threatened properties along the Cumbrian coastline.

One of the areas worst affected was Walney Island, where roads were flooded and police offered to help move people to safety.

Residents there have been campaigning for flood defences for the past eight years.

North West Tonight's Judy Hobson spoke to home owners as the water levels rose.
