Middlesbrough's Clairville Stadium closes

It has nurtured Olympians such as Chris Tomlinson and Allison Curbishley, but Middlesbrough's Clairville Stadium has hosted its final race.

After more than 50 years the venue is to be demolished because of council budget cuts.

The site has been earmarked for a massive housing development.

But as Look North's Martin Forster reports, local sports clubs have remained encouraged, with the promise of a state-of-the-art sports village just a few miles up the road.
