Cumbrian mothers want to set up autism school

Two Cumbrian mothers have taken on the huge challenge of setting up a school specifically for children with autism.

Lynne Thornton and Lin Atrill from Keswick say many parents of autistic children end up having to choose between home-schooling or moving their child away for specialist education.

If their application to the Department of Education is accepted, the Cumbrian Academy for Autism could be up and running in the west of the county by September next year.
