Carlisle MP candidates get a grilling in BBC Hot Seat

Four candidates vying to become the next MP for Carlisle have been given a grilling by members of the public in a BBC Hot Seat.

Lee Sherriff from Labour, UKIP's Fiona Mills, John Stevenson for the Conservatives and Loraine Birchall from the Liberal Democrats were quizzed on issues including social housing, employment support for disabled people and the cost of HS2.

The Conservatives won Carlisle with a majority of 852 in 2010.

Also standing in Carlisle are Helen Davison for the Green party and Alfred Okam as an independent.
