Wife vows revenge for airport Christmas prank

A woman from Derby is planning to take revenge on her husband after he sent her a mocked up letter from East Midlands Airport telling her their Christmas lights were interfering with air-traffic control.

Trevor Hempell thought his wife Sandra had overdone it with the lights on the outside of their house in Spondon, so concocted the message.

Mrs Hempell said she believed it for about 20 minutes before she realised it was a joke.

She said her response will come when her partner is least expecting it.
