Rev Chris Colledge foils lead thief on church roof

A Bournemouth vicar mounted a night-time stake as he caught a thief who stole £200,000 worth of lead from his church roof.

Following a series of raids, Rev Chris Colledge peered through the letter-box at St Stephen's Church and saw the culprit shimmying up a drain pipe.

He alerted police immediately, and the culprit has now been jailed.
