Bournemouth's St George's Hotel to be demolished

A former hotel that has stood derelict in Bournemouth for a decade is to be demolished.

A neighbouring hotel manager called the building "depressing" and said some of his customers had walked out because it spoiled the view.

Chris Colledge, of the Westcliff Green Residents Association, said campaigners were "sick and tired" of the existing structure.

Residents have welcomed plans for 16 residential apartments to be built on the site in its place.
