Stephen Mallon family plea over funeral
The family of a man who died after being attacked in Spain four years ago have called for legal proceedings to be resolved so his body can be released for cremation.
Stephen Mallon, from Bournemouth, died in 2009 after being caught up in an incident while on holiday near Malaga.
The Spanish authorities allowed his body to be repatriated on condition it is not released for cremation until after a trial, scheduled for May 2014.
It remains in a Bournemouth mortuary.
A Foreign and Commonwealth spokesman said it was unable to intervene in the judicial process, but had raised the family's concerns with the Spanish authorities.
