Blandford fly controls under threat

One of the South's most irritating insect pests, which has been successfully kept at bay for the past 20 years, may be coming back.

The Blandford fly used to swarm in huge numbers, leaving nasty bites on hundreds of people.

Since the early 90s, a regular chemical treatment has kept the fly in check.
