Yewstock School in Sturminster Newton launches balloon into near space

A special needs school in Dorset has claimed to be the first to launch a high altitude weather balloon into near space.

The Rocketeers science group at Yewstock School in Sturminster Newton launched the balloon with an on-board camera and radio transmitter into the skies above the village.

Three hours later, it landed in a field in Devon.
