Pilot training at Portland given go-ahead after planning row

A company running a pilot training centre at a former coastguard helicopter base in Portland have been given permission to continue by the council.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council had previously said the "change of use" required planning consent.

However, Heli Operations was told by the authority in January that it did not need to apply for any further permissions.
