Essex fire crews announce summer strike

Fire crews in Essex are to stage five strikes in a dispute over cuts to frontline services.

The Fire Brigades Union claims Essex will have lost one in five frontline firefighters since 2008 if planned cuts go ahead.

They have announced industrial action on 28 June, 7 and 18 July, 18 August and 18 October.

The Essex Fire and Rescue Service says they have already met a number of union demands and services will not be affected

The Olympic Torch will be travelling through Essex 7th July.
