Flood threat: Jaywick evacuated ahead of tidal surge

People have been told to leave their homes in Jaywick in Essex ahead of an expected tidal surge.

Chief fire officer David Johnson said the homes were being evacuated with flood levels expected to reach 50cm (20in) from the top of the sea wall.

Local schools will act as rest centres.
