Wivenhoe parents fight to save school buses

A group of parents are fighting plans to axe their children's school buses to save the council money.

From September there will be no free transport from Wivenhoe in Essex to Colne Community College in Brightlingsea. One parent has calculated the journey will cost £400 to £500 a year per pupil.

Essex County Council says it needs to save money and the affected children should go to Colchester Academy, which is closer.
