Jaywick 'loft insulation' boat rescued during fishing trip

Two fishermen had to be rescued from a £9 homemade fishing boat on the North Sea.

The pair were off the Essex coast at Jaywick, near Clacton, on Monday, when one of their oars broke.

One of the anglers, who gave his name as Jamie, said they had a successful day's fishing and would do it again, even though they admitted their RNLI rescuers were not impressed.

One of them could not swim and neither had life jackets.
