Eisenhower's D-Day speech

General Dwight D Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe in World War II, led the D-Day landings - the assault on the beaches of Normandy - on 6 June 1944.

He told the people of occupied Western Europe about the invasion in a now-famous speech which was broadcast by the BBC.
