Portsmouth says farewell to pioneering policewoman
The funeral has taken place in Portsmouth of a pioneer in women's policing.
Gladys Howard, who died aged 100, was one of Portsmouth's first WPCs in the late 1940s and was the first woman in the city to be promoted to inspector.
After retiring she became a city councillor and eventually lord mayor.
