Compensation bid for boy over parents' timber-fall deaths

The family of a toddler whose parents were killed when a load fell from a lorry in 2011 say they will take civil action against the haulage firm involved.

Morgan Matts was aged one when his parents Terri-Ann Barnett and Tom Matts died after the incident on the Belmont Road in Hereford.

The driver of the lorry, Graham Morgan, 49, admitted two counts of causing death by careless driving.

He has recently been released from prison after serving six months of a one-year sentence.

The toddler's aunt Claire Sessarego said he deserved compensation for the "years of love and support" he would lose.

Haulage company Gammond Transport Ltd declined to comment.
