River Avon in Evesham: Flooding closes roads and schools
The River Avon in Evesham has burst its banks, closing roads and schools, and flooding riverside properties.
Evesham Rowing Club has been forced to cancel a regatta for the third time this year, which chairman John Lomas said would cost the club £10,000.
Gerry O'Donnell, Evesham Town Council representative of the Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association, said the worst could still be yet to come.
Wychavon District Council have confirmed that residents have been able to collect sandbags from the Evesham contact centre, the lido car park in Droitwich Spa and the civic centre in Pershore.
