Eyewitness to fatal narrowboat sinking in Worcestershire describes attempt to save man
A lock keeper who tried to rescue a man who died when his narrowboat sank in a canal has been describing the battle to save him.
James Cowlishaw fought in vain to help Alan Green, who lived aboard the Sonskit in a marina near Droitwich town centre, Worcestershire.
Eyewitnesses said Mr Green saved his mother and dog before his death.
Paramedics battled for 40 minutes on Monday to resuscitate him but he died at the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
