East Yorkshire conservationists' fear over ash tree disease

Conservationists have said a fungal disease that kills ash trees could change the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire landscape forever.

More than 40% of trees in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are ash.

The government has destroyed infected ash trees and banned their importation in an attempt to halt the spread of the Chalara fraxinea fungus, which has already killed 90% of ash trees in Denmark.
