Hull doubles up as London for Girl's Night Out filming

Hull's historic buildings have been transformed to double as 1940s wartime London for a feature film being shot in the city.

Alfred Gelder Street has been turned into Piccadilly for the filming of Girl's Night Out. The movie, starring Rupert Everett, is also using 1,600 local people as extras and will feature many parts of the city.

Screen Yorkshire, an organisation promoting TV, film and game projects in Yorkshire and the Humber, expects it will boost the economy by about a million pounds in location fees and money spent with local businesses.
