Spirit of Yorkshire county's first whisky distillery
Yorkshire's first whisky distillery has opened using barley from the Yorkshire Wolds which was previously sent to distilleries in Scotland.
Each cask at the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery, between Hunmanby and Driffield, contains 300 bottles of whisky.
It takes three years to make a bottle and the first casks will be ready in 2020. Some of the liquid will be made into Yorkshire gin and other spirits.
A visitor centre is expected to open later in April.
English whisky is growing in popularity and the idea for a Yorkshire distillery came about when farmers realised they were sending grain to Scotland, yet there was an appetite for locally-made products.
