Developers purchase Manston Airport in Kent
Manston Airport in Kent has been sold to regeneration specialists who are planning a £1bn redevelopment to create business, manufacturing and housing at the site.
It has been bought by the same team that redeveloped Discovery Park in Sandwich when the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer pulled out.
They have said their scheme could create as many as 4,000 jobs in Thanet.
BBC South East Today's Business Correspondent Mark Norman spoke to Trevor Cartner, chairman of Discovery Park, Dan Light of Save Manston Airport, Councillor Alan Poole, of Thanet District Council, and Laura Sandys, Conservative MP for South Thanet.
