Chicken catchers win Maidstone gangmaster case
The High Court has handed down a judgment in favour of six Lithuanian men who worked for a Kent firm, in what lawyers called a "landmark modern slavery case".
The men were employed by Maidstone firm DJ Houghton Catching Services to catch chickens bound for processing plants across the UK.
It was branded "the worst UK gangmaster ever" by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority.
Lawyers representing the victims said the judgment is an important victory.
