Medway NHS Foundation Trust comes out of special measures

The boss of the health trust which runs the Medway Maritime Hospital has spoken of her delight that the hospital has come out of special measures.

Lesley Dwyer, chief executive of the Medway NHS Foundation Trust, said it was "a great tribute" to the hospital's dedicated staff.

It was one of 11 hospitals branded "inadequate" after Sir Bruce Keogh's review of hospitals in 2013, and spent 41 months in special measures.
